X70 GETS A MERC

Hunting a locale school site that had some recent construction. All the dirt that was dug out was used to fill in new spots. Found this 1945 Merc 2'' down. Came in at 40-42 V.D.I. Using the 6'' H.F coil, all metal, sens at 30, 4 tone. Wish they made a nice DD coil for these. I had a X50 and the 10.5 DD coil and it didn't seem to have the depth of the stock coil. Has anyone used the aftermarket NEL coils. Do these coil get better depth than the stock coil? Thanks Tom

Great find!

IMHO pirates hurt the economy, the industry, the customer and sometimes even your equipment, buying Minelab or Minelab approved coils insures the best performance, customer service and allows the company to invest in research and development (like the new pin-pointer and CTX 3030).

They are not minelab approved. Pirated technology I guess so they do not discuss them on the board here.
Exactly!
As a matter of fact, as of the first of the year Xterra's all have upgraded firmware that doesn't recognize anything but approved coils.

Can't blame Minelab for that change but then you'd think they'd either offer a better coil selection or have Coiltek produce some more choices.

Congrat's on the nice Merc. It always nice when you run in to something like that to where they they bring up the old coins and make it a lil easier to find.

I loath digging dimes...unless their silver ...glad we don't have a smaller coin....Nice Merc,Good Luck..stay cool.
