X70 and Bugspary

Android

Just a note to all you readers. My buddy sprayed himself with some bugspray and got some mist on the x70 control box. It left all kinds of white spots on the screen and housing. It ate the plastic like acid. Spray carefully!

thanks for the tip! I'll surly try to remember that.
@#!!$! We but that stuff on our skin?

Thanks for the tip... Who would of thought!

Any repellent that contains DEET will screw up most plastic composite materials. I found out when I got some on a synthetic rifle stock.

Makes you realise how important it is to get yourself a protective cover for your machine. It is worth the extra few bucks to be safe, plus it gives you extra protection in the rain. seeya Neilo

I've been reading these posts and wondering why the STAGGERING amounts of bug spray I've applied hasn't affected my own X-Terra 70. But Neilo, you hit the nail right on the head there... It's probably because of my Environmental Cover. When I bought the X-Terra 70, the salesman forgot to mention the optional cover when I asked him for any accessories. I returned two days later and bought one. Lucky thing too since a sharp stick scratched the cover just a few days later when I passed through thick scrub with the detector. I seem to remember a comment in the instruction manual to only use water when wiping the unit down.
