I bought a used Minelab X-50, Had just a little time to play after work. Went over the back yard (again) knowing this would be about the fourth time, I didn't expect to find much. And I didn't find anything big, That's the point I'm making I found a piece of a brass zipper at about 5" it was maybe 1/4" x 1/4 " 1/8 thick. What surprised me is I always got erratic signal in this area ,TV cable runs thru here. The other detectors would never give a solid or even consistent signal . The minelab had a solid 18 -21 vdi at 6" deep. Pinpoint was dead on, Depth was within a inch or so. So now I'm going to go back over places I've done before, Who knows I might find that bucket of gold and retire.....At least that's the dream

It has been my experience that anytime you change detectors or switch coils and especially when a coil of a different size, configuration or frequency such as on the X-T's, it is important to go back over all of your old sites and re-search each of them as you will be amazed at what some of the previous detectors or coils have over-looked and missed.

The X-Terra 50 is a great machine!! I found my 1st Morgan Silver Dollar with the one I had, in a place that had been pounded by others. I have entertained the idea of finding another one for my arsenal to use and compare to my 70/705 since I am more aquainted with the X-Terras now.
Good luck and happy huntin'!!!!!!:minelab:

I have a 50 that I keep in my lineup as my coinshooter. I mostly relic hunt with beep dig machines, but when I'm in the mood to hunt playgrounds, parks, or real trashy areas the 50 with my 6" DD coil is a great combo.

I started with the 50. It is a great machine! Found my first Barber dime with it! My wife uses it now and she she really loves it! She has found many goodies along the way!
