Read the post Traded Quattro for X-70, Trackerman who replied likes his better than the X-70

In short, no.
I've just gone the other way to what you have done. I had the X-Terra 30 for 3.5 years and was quite happy with it. I bought a 70 just before the model change. About the only difference, is the prospecting mode and 99 tones. The 305 has 12 tones though. The edges of the signals are a bit softer on the 70 than the 30, but that's it. The 30 was about an ounce or 2 lighter than the 70 even though the add says they are the same weight.
Bottom line is that if the 30 can't hear a target, then nore would have the 70! Having 12 notches makes the numbers a lot more stable, but still allows junk to jump around, so you are not missing out there either. It's actually a bit easier to work with. I've only just parted company with my 30, but if I still had it, I would be as happy hunting with it as the 70. The only thing you will miss, is having the prospecting mode to help pinpoint a target, but that's about it.

From what I've been reading on this and other forms I think you will be quite happy. Good Luck.

I had an Xterra 70 got rid of it in a trade.I like my Xterra 305 better .It seems more stable on ids and like quarters a bit more than the 70.Plus i have found better stuff with it. Depth is close.I dont think your gona lose anything. Infact you might even like the 305 better. Congrats good choice.
