X2 Pro Problem

Hi guys. I've got an X2 Pro from a friend. Had one years ago and many say its the best Sov board there is. I used to use it with the WOT in A/M mode and get dimes at 20" no guff.
Anyhow, when I try to use the alkaline pack, the door keeps springing open. Any way to solve this short of duct tape?

I have seen this before and find that the rechargeable packs are a little thicker so they fit tighter and kind of holds the door closed, but some of them too will slide open. I used to use a rubber band on mine until I seen where someone put some rubber padding on the inside of the door which will hold the door tight. It is some thin padding that is sticky on one side that fits on the door. It is enough to keep the door a little tighter which keeps the latch closed more too so it can not slide open that easy.
Give it a try and see if it don't work for you.

Get a roll of double back tape. It has a little foam density to it and a small piece might work. Leave the protective strip on one side so it doesn't grab the battery.

On my XS2 Pro I have the rechargeable pack that I had rebuilt by Batteries Plus. They put a small warranty sticker on the pack that says do not remove. The problem is the sliding door is such a tight fit that it scrapes that sticker and almost peels it off. That's tight.

Clive for a couple of dollars just convert it to the older plug-in system.Pig tails are easy to make, and with the clip removed from the box install a M male plug from Radio Shack.Yelp forgot a female M plug on your pigtail.Good Luck Ron PS I would use shipping tape as a temporary fix doesn't leave any residue when peeled off.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Funny how the cell pack lock in perfectly but the alkaline just won't catch. That's just the kind of thing that would stop you dead on a hunt--hate to say it! Surprise! Sorry but I don't know waht an M-clip is--probably should. Tape is looking like the way to go here although I might try nipping some of the springs off to reduct the tension. Great to see some of you Sov purists still at it. Me too that's why I bought the X2. The stability is awesome. Good luck with the fall hunts.
