X1 Question in Reguards to TTF

Is there a way to quickly switch to multi tones or get the most out of the X1 in TTF to where its more accurate. I hope that makes sense. At first I didn't realize why all of a sudden my X1 wasn't pinpointing good. Then I realized with only two tones almost every little piece of metal sounds the same.. Hoping I'm not the only one with this problem.. Thanks Evan.

X-1 in TTF works the same like in conductive, never had problem in ferrous, but I detect without discrimination. only when I use max manual sensitivity x-1 start to pick to much around and loose accuracy, but its manageable. Stasys

Never had a problem here. Not sure if I exactly understand your question. A nail in the hole with a coin will sound off as iron and the coin will give a distinctive high tone, no different than when you use your swing coil. It will only be more difficult when there are 2 conductive targets in the hole. Ex, a coin with a pull tab. But if were me would dig both anyway. HH Joe

I just seems like when in TTF the probe is erratic... Now I can put it into multi tone and its highly accurate...

I'm in regular screen in auto, which is usually 19 +3. So when I go to switch the probe, I switch into manual where I have it set to about 6 so the probe isn't erratic. Cause if I don't it hits high tones all over the hole... I'm wondering if a hot ground would cause this..
Again if I am in multi tone conductive it works perfect I can have the sensitivity 25 + and it rocks.. I guess cause I listen so closely to the different tones in multi, it helps me when using the probe in bad ground.
