I have ordered the X-1 with just a coil connector and it's going to cost me around
Au $320.00 Australian dollars.
I can imagine what you might be thinking and that is that HARDNOSE is going to be what equates to about 25%(1/4) of the total cost of the Explorer, comes to mind.
Oh well. It might be the best way to go if you do not want to muck about with:
1. Extra batteries
2. A circuit that is independent of the Explorer.
might as well utilise the Explorer electronics.
Realise that the x-1 is really quite simply another tubular shaped long miniature search coil that can be switched to and from the larger coil.
If you are going to get one for the stock Explorer it works out to US $179.95 plus postage and handling and do not forget customs and duties when we get it into this country. I am not sure how much that is going to be.(please don't let it be TOO much).
That price does NOT include the upper shaft that needs to be sent in first or you can purchase another from Sunray for about US$30.00 I think.
It's starting to add up now, isn't?
I reckon though, for the Explorer, that the X-1 is the way to go.
It comes from SUNRAY, a fairly respectable and honourable company(so far it seems that way from what I have seen to date )so it should be okay.
The Vibra probe is also a good option because you can use it with any other detector, but whilst I am using the Explorer soley I think
I'll spend my money on the X-1.
There are quite a few other probes I have seen around lately so the choices are there.
