X1 Probe Digger

Not sure if anyone has done this already. So I decided to make a small digger out of some pvc for the end of my X1 Probe. So much simpler, I think, when getting close to the target without switching back and forth to the hand trowel.

Remember X-1 probe is not suited for bending forces, pvc tube to soft for this and inside in the front two copper windings, not in the epoxy. By bending you can easily loose probe stability and after you will never have normally working probe. I know what i am saying, have cutted few and I know how they made, had similar modification and after sometime lost interest. Simply to complicated system.

Thanks for the heads up.

I think it's a great idea. Thanks for showing.
I asked Sunray and Coiltek way back in 1999/2001, if they would consider making a digger with a built in electronic probe. All in one trowel and detecting probe.Nothing obviously came of it.
Maybe make a trowel out of a strong resilient plastic, so that the X-1 or any other probe for that matter, goes into a part of a digging tool, that you'd place the probe into.
When digging, you'll be doing so with the strong plastic trowel as it takes the stress's and strains off the X-1, but still allow you to use the probe in the same action.

This is what you can make from garrett pro pointer, because probe smaller diameter its easy to make something like this. But remember coil in garrett pro poineter is fragile, because its ferrite stick.

That's a great idea! Now you got me thinking. LOL
