x-terra problems ?

kris

New member
I think the x-terra has been out for over a year now I was just wondering if any problems had surfaced, you know screens blanking ext. or any other warranty claims ? the 4000`s are having some screen problems.

I sold my first XT to Bavaria Mike and other than his headphone problem I think its working fine. And look what he puts that through.

There was one recent report of a DOA. Last spring there was some battery spring issues, but haven't really seen much of that for some time. And there have been sporadic speaker connection problems, maybe five or six in a year that I can recall reported here. Other than that, with three models and 6+ coils released in one year pretty trouble free. No machines going back for revisions, software, firmware upgrades etc.

I use mine in really cold conditions in the winter, 20F and below with no LCD issues. And I am certain the guys in Oz and the Southwest are running around prospecting in temperatures that would melt me into a puddle.

The only problem I'm having with my mine is I need a bigger Treasure chest to hold my stash! Hahaha anyone else having the same problem as me?
Cheers!

G,day Kris.
The only prob I reckon is the rear stand is way too small and not flared out enough. Technically wise mine works great. The hottest I have used mine is was in Central Victoria in Australia in summer when the temp soared to, and caught me out as I was onto some gold, 46 Celsius. I think thats somewhere near 120f. Had no screen probs or function probs at all.
The only batt probs I have had has been using my rechargeable ones and after probably 6 recharges the connection between two became a bit dirty from handling them and picking up I suppose hand sweat/oil and then probably some dust. I cleaned them and its been good since.
I now wipe the contacts now and then to make sure its all ok.
