X-terra coils, which is which?

New member
Hello, new member with a recently aquired X-Terra 505 here. I received 2 coils with it, one is supposed to be the 7.5 khz and the other is 3 khz but nether one is marked. How do you know which is which?

The only numbers on them are L 03150, and M 02166. I googgled each of these and found nothing. They are both 9" concentric and have Minelab molded into them.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Press the menu select button. Press and hold the accept/reject button. It should give you codes for standard, low or high freqs.

cS, cL,cH
Concentric standard,low,high
dS,dL,dH
DoubleD standard,low,high

7.5 khz is the M 0216. The M stands for Medium Frequency.
3 khz is the L 03150. The L stands for Low Frequency.

Well, that makes perfect sense why didnt I think of that?

Awesome, thanks for the help!

I downloaded Randy Horton's book but couldn't find anything about this. I did like his discriptions of the properties of each coil. I'm headed to the beach this weekend and want to give the 3 kHz coil a try.
