X-Terra 705 Beach Hunting

At the beach yesterday, found that the tractors have been adding sand and packing it down, I climbed up on the seawall and looked around and spotted an area that didn't look at squashed as the rest of the beach (Storm season is coming) so I went there. As a local I know most people go North and this was South, where not that many people go for some reason? I kept myself focused and slowed way down and found many targets. I took out $3.47 ( 7 Deep Nickles) in coin and 2 piece of fake jewelry, and I had a nice talk with an English girl named Sophie, wished I was a younger man right about then, oh yeah, and saw a pod of dolphins. What an Awesome hunt it was. While hunting in coin mode with a disc. pattern of 1, I would get broken signals or sometimes 2 signals of different tones. When I dug them they were nails super rusted and deep like 9". I dig with a small WW1 entrenching tool, it works well in the wet stuff. I found that when I got this double signal, a quick way to determine what it is or whether its another nail was to select the AM or All Metal mode and it would beep with a negative number if iron and a strong tone Positive numbers if it was non Ferris. A new trick for me in my X-Terra tool box. Rick

The Minelab X-Terra 705 is an excellent beach machine for sure! Were you using the beach setting? You have the 705 or 705 gold pack?

Thanks for the tip! I am sure that will help other guys!

Yes, I have a Mine lab 705 Gold Pack, I was hunting in the coin mode with a pattern #1 on the discrimination and my sensitivity was about 14, 3 tone setting, 5 x 10 elliptical coil, I could not get the beach tracking mode to kick in, I have to look at that again. Rick
