New to the site, have to thank everyone for all the good information on the x-terra, 1st detector and new at MD. Purchase a x-terra 705. Any suggestions on additional handbooks on the use of the x-terra or MD. Thanks

All you have to do is read Diggers posts on the X-70 & 705 and if you follow his advice, you will do fine. Welcome to the site and HH Nampa 23.

Congratulations on your 1st detector.. You will find lots of good stuff if you are patient and learn how to use it !!! You will find as much help as you need here from some of the nicest, most knowledgeable people around.

IMO, the 705 and Safari are great, but as the best get E-Trac for jewelry only hunting, to weed out the unwanted coins and trash, but it may miss some very tiny gold earing studs as with all BBS-FBS machines.

gdeverich, get the 6" HF DD coil for your new 705 for working high trash areas. Also the 9" LF Concentric for working high iron areas and best on coins. The round 10.5" MF DD for other uses.

Also look at the "FAQFAQ.................Frequently Asked Questions" section here.

I see Randy's(Digger) thread about operating the X-Terra has dissapeared at the top of the Forum. Where did it go?

The 70/705 is very easy to operate once you know how. Just at first it falsely looks hard and daunting, but it is not. Hope this helps.
