I just bought an X-terra 70 machine and love to relic hunt. I live in VA and this is where I mainly go. I am not a technical guy and am having allot of trouble understanding all the controls, I really could use help with all the settings and what to look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I NEED HELP.

djc...tried so send you a PM and it did not go??? TomB

Check out the FAQFAQ section at the top of these posts. Lots of good information up there. And although the article I wrote for the X-70 was intended for coinshooters, the controls and functionality are the same, no matter what it is you're looking for. HH Randy

Welcome to the site! We are glad you are here!

For sure as Digger said check ou nthe FAQFAQ. It helped me more than any other thing with my 70, Beale.

If you don't understand the manual or the faqfaq then try watching these Minelab videos about the X-Terra 70 (they are copies of the DVD that comes with the machine but have been posted to youtube.)

These links are located at the bottom of the FAQFAQ page. HH Randy

RTFM - we used to say in the Army..Read the freaking manual....but in this case I'll say read the freaking forum! IF all else fails, read your freaking manual, and watch the free video! This forum and it's never ending advice is why I made the choice to get my x-terra 70 over all the others out there. As noted by the first post. go to the FAQ, it will tell you how to ground balance/noise cancel your machine, in case you don't have access to a computer where you cannot watch your included DVD. After you have noise cancelled/ground balanced your machine, there are very few reasons why you should not start finding something. My suggestion is to start metal detecting at your local auto recycling center yard so you can get the basics down.

The Dvd included in the bx gives you a pretty dendent idea of how to run the xterra 70. I you dont have one call minelab good luck.
