X-Terra 70 Worksheet.......................

New member
This is a worksheet that you might find helpful in determining the target numbers for your X-Terra 70 metal detector. This can also be used for the X-Terra 50 and 30 by changing the title to the worksheet.

Some folks could first do an air test with various coins and record the target numbers displayed on their X-Terra 70 screen, then compare them to what the numbers are out in the field under actual hunting conditions.

This is some examples of the numbers displayed on my X-Terra 70: Zinc penny 30, copper penny 36, Jefferson nickel 12, clad dime 36, rosey dime 38 & 40, clad quarter 42, silver quarter 42, clad half 44, and silver half 44. These numbers were attained with the original 9" concentric 7.5kHz coil.

I also use the X-Terra 30 metal detector and have found that the numbers will vary slightly from what is displayed on the screen of the X-Terra 70. For example, a zinc penny will be a number 32 on the X-Terra 30, but will be a number 30 on the X-Terra 70.

These X-Terra metal detectors are fun to use and I hope this worksheet will be of use for you. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

Thanks so much for re-posting your X-70 ID Chart, Kelley.

Still getting used to the new 70, and I really like it. The ID values match up with your chart.

Thanks again; stay cool:spin:

stated several post down from this post. He has done extentsive testing to arrive at target numbers and it would be highly recommended that you copy his chart and use it as a guideline. Your target numbers may vary slightly from his target numbers due to the mineralization of the soil in your area, but for the most part, his target numbers have been proven to be accurate.
