X-terra 70 Relic hunt

I got out for a couple hours before church tonight back at the spot I hunted two weeks ago. It was a good hunt. This place is going to give up a lot of goodies I believe. I managed to find my first infantry coat button in good shape. A bunch of half of horse shoes. I was using my x-terra 70 two tones sensitivity 22. This place was loaded with trash and a electric fence all the way around it. Also found a big rim fire not sure what caliber but that is a 12 gauge shell beside it. Also not sure what the long bent piece is it is iron except for about 2 inches and it is brass and is threaded inside and has a small hole through it.

Very nice! The large rim fire may be a .52 caliber Spencer case. Made in the 1860s. If you take calipers to it just before the rim it should measure about.56 if it's the old Spencer case. I've found some .44 rim fire cases as well. Great finds!

I'm leaning more towards 44. That is a shot enfield beside it.

Nice finds. I found a RHA Co. Eclipse 12 gauge shell--one that I never saw before. Fairly rare I think.

Great finds!
I really like the broken snaffle bit and the barrel band. I wish that you had pics of the horseshoes, given what I do for a living.

I can't afford to hunt before church. I lose track of time too easily and its VERY noticeable when the pastor slides in late all disheveled and dirty. :detecting:

yeah I had to keep watching my watch. I am the youth pastor so I better no be sliding in late either.

I checked the rim fire at work today and it looks to be 44.
