Hi have noticed that there different opinions about which coil to use on the beach ,can some one help thank you.
 
I have used the 9" MF, 5x10" HF and the 10.5" HF DD coils on the salty beaches here and I have found the 10.5" HF coil to be the best for finding the small stuff and ground coverage. Besides, it is easy to pinpoint. However, the downside is that wet sand is not its best friend. I have noticed that even though it will detect targets pretty deep, it is difficult line up the target to dig it up. I think it is the byproduct of the single frequency-ness of the X-Terra getting confused. That said, some of the smallest targets I have ever detected was with this coil. Sand scoop was near useless since the targets would just slip through. :unsure:
