i have both the 18 and 7 khz coils and use the all metal mode when using them, with the 18 khz although it is very sensitive i am only getting very shallow targets, but when switching over to the 7 khz coil have had finds at a depth of 12 inches. i am wondreing if this is the norm. would very much appreciate your comments
thanks

It is a lot more sensitive, the sens has to be turned down quite a bit compared to the stock coil to be effective in my area and it's not very good in trashy sites either. But, the depth is good when used in the right places. I've pulled coins with it at 8-10" along side the lake area and lead weights that were 2 shovels full deep.
It's also very good on brass, I got a 20 mm Eagle button last week in some clean woods that was close to 1' deep and it still sounded good under the 18.75 coil. Normally I would have been using the stock coil for relic hunting but didn't realize that I had left 18.75 on it until I was way out in the woods.
Now I'm really confused :)
