There is an older house across the street from my house that I remembered one of the teachers in my elementary school living in when I was a kid. An old man lives there now and I went over to ask him if I could metal detect in the yard. He said he didn't care so I took the X-terra 50 over to give it a try. The first afternoon I only hunted about 45 minutes and found some clad and a 1920 wheat penny and a 1941 wheat penny. I went back on Saturday and spent a little more time in the front yard. I found a gold engagement ring without a stone ( i think it is gold filled but is pretty nice) and a 1915 D Buffalo nickel. Did some checking and found out that it is a key date nickel. According to the website I was on it's worth somewhere between $16 and $29 dollars. If it was uncirculated it would be over $100 dollars. I was pretty happy with the way the X-terra performed. I am running it all metal like a friend advised and it boosted my confidence in the machine quite a bit.
