X-Terra 50 and Musketeer finds

I decided to hit an old school and hunt close to see if I could pull some silver out of the ground, but only managed to find a 1944 wheatie and some clad coins.
After hunting about all the area I could, I decided to check out an old house to see what the conditions looked like around it as far as the grass height.
As I passed by, I noticed that the house had been torn down recently and the grass was now mowed and much shorter than it had been on previous hunts.
After checking with the owner down the road, I decided to try finding the elusive silver here.
On previous hunts, only one silver coin has been found which was a standing liberty quarter in the same hole as a wheat penny.
Also found was an 1810 large cent and a "Ball button", so I knew there had to be a few goodies left in here if only the grass was a little shorter.
Many wheat pennies were found here also and one buffalo nickel.
Anyhow, I started out with the X-terra and 10.5" widescan coil and scanned the yard very slowly and trying to overlap to avoid missing targets.
After only a few minutes, I managed a 1919 wheatie that was missed on previous hunts, so I felt confident more was around.
Shortly after that I got another signal and found a 1944 wheatie. After rescanning the hole, I got another signal up in the dime/ quarter range and found a nice 1945 mercury dime.
After about another hour of hunting, I decided to take a break and eyeball the clear spots to see if any coins might have gotten stirred up during the demolition of the house, but didn't find anything, so I got the musketeer out and rescanned the area I had previously hunted, but didn't come up with any additional coins.
I then moved around to the area that had been disturbed near the house and got a good smooth signal and when I bent down to dig, I noticed a coin laying on top of the ground.... another mercury dime dated 1920!!
I now started scanning the area and found another 1920 mercury dime just below the surface.
Thinking maybe I had found some coins that were hidden and disturbed, I started scanning all the clear spots where the growth wasn't so thick and managed to find one more wheatie dated 1942 and a couple of memorial cents.
Oh well, it was exciting thinking maybe I might have stumbled on a small cache..... maybe next time.
Still, what are the odds of finding two mercury dimes with the same dates so close to one another?
After that I got a bite to eat and stopped by a local school and found some clad to add to the other goodies for the day.
After it cools down some, I will go back and try that house site again.
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Nice finds Felix. And a great combination with the X-Terra and Musky! That 45 Merc must have been lost when it was new. Congrats on a nice hunt. HH Randy

Felix, your Musketeer had 10" coil? If you would started with Musketeer, do you think there might be some coins left for X-Terra?

Congrats on the great finds Felix!! I like seeing those Mercs! The old wheats are good to, nice hunting, Beale.

I love my Musky, but I find that with the discrimination(Level Adjust) cranked all the way up to maximum I still cannot knock out pennies as only sometimes I like to knock out pennies and below(yes I know I lose some goodies like old pennies, some dimes, and nickles) in very, very high trash areas and go for quarters and above.

What I mean is I wish the Musky's discrimination scale went a little bit higher having the capability-option to knock out pennies, which it cannot do now.

But I can knock out pennies successfully with my X-70 and still get quarters and this particular method does work fine with the X-70.
