Hoss

New member
Hello fellow treasure hunters..Ive always wanted to get me a detector and hunt for treasure. I finally did it..just purchased a X-terra 30 and cant wait for it to get here and get started..i love coins and what a better way to get them for a little work..any feed back on the 30 will be great so chime in if you have one or know about them..I had a great chat with JW from KellyCo and he helped me pick one out to begin with and then referred me here.. so on the standby for now but anxiously awaiting..

Welcome to the site! You are in for some fun and great finds! Congrats on the new detector.

Check the faqfaq at the top of the page. A load of information just waiting to be read. Good luck to you, Beale.

Welcome to the forum Hoss, you will run into some very smart people here, you can learn a lot from them. You will love your new xterra, a great detector.

Thanks again for the welcomes..I will be in touch on all the goodies I find!

Good Luck. Give the detector a chance and you will be hooked for LIFE. No kidding.

Good luck with the new detector Hoss.
You'll have a lot of fun with it. Play around with it home and become familiar with it before you head out with it. Put some coins and junk on the ground and waive the detector over them to see how they respond. This will give you a leg up when you go out with it.
If you have any questions, just ask away.
All the best.
Mick Evans.

best of luck with a great detector. it's your first and it won't be your last, believe me. i was you once several years ago and i now have 4 detectors, several pinpointers, and extra coils to go with each one. i have a tremendous amount of finds, and i can't wait to go detecting tomorrow.

I forgot to say thanks to JW on here I know he visits so JW thanks...GO GATORS.....I know I'm from Oklahoma and I'm saying that..well its a long short story..lol

anyway thanks for the welcomes and again to you JW your a fine fella..

It came in today..put it together and went to the local lake and searched the beach vollyball area...I found a bunch of old pull tabs about 4-6 inches and one tab at about 13 inches..I could not believe how easy it was to get started..BUT I was getting a 44 sometimes a 26 on pull tabs that was confusing me..I thought for sure i had a quarter or something legit..FYI for starters not being familiar with the unit i had sensitivity all the way up sand was dry..Im doing some reading but if you guys have advise it would be welcome..

You're in big trouble Hoss. I bought an X Terra 30 about 18 months ago - got all my investment back in about 3 months - bought an Explorer 2 - my wife bought one - my son bought an X terra 70 - my brother bought one - now I've got a GP 3500 and soon a GPX 4500 for gold - sadly that's what will happen to you Hoss! And my other two sons are infected also! You're in big trouble Hoss.

Thats fine bring it on...LOL i only hope my wife gets into it. searched an old jail house from the 1800s the other day actually called and talked to JW at Kellyco while I was there and asked a few questions.. But anyway I found the old jail house skeleton key lock mechanism. the story is the US marshals use to stop by this small jail house and spend the night as they were traveling thru with prisoners..Its a cool place..I will take pics next time Im there..
