x cal 2 alk pod

I just thought I would let you all know that I got 15 and a half hours out of my first set of alk. batteries in my new pod. I used energizers with the x-cal set on auto. I am pleased with my new investment!
I took my battery tester to the so-called expired batteries, only to find that they are still registering very good. I will still be able to use them in remotes or wii controllers and get many more hours of good use out them. I guess the x-cal must need to keep a very high and consistent voltage to run smoothly. I could have still kept them in, but it would've driven me nuts to hear the low batt. warning sound until the batteries were entirely depleted. I would definitely recommend this pod for shallow wading.

That is so long! Is there a new pod out for the Excalibur? I need to replace one of my rechargeable pods soon.....thanks for any info :)

The alkaline pod. It has been out for quite some time as far as I know. You can get one for around $80-$90. Well worth the investment and added security as a back up in my opinion. My NiCad pack always seems to go dead at the damnedest time. At least with the alk. pod I can change the batteries at the lake and keep hunting with little time loss.

You should consider Energizer Lithium batts...I run these in my ALK pod and get a good 50-60 hrs...or more. They're a little more expensive, but worth the $.
