X 70 GETS A 14K Diamond Ring

Hunting the locale school with the X70 and the 6'' HF coil. Setting 30, AM. Got a 14-16 signal about 3'' down. Outs pops a 14k mans ring with 4 small diamonds. Will have it checked tommorow to see if there real.

Nice find, I am suprised at the ID, I would have expected a 44-46. Keep us posted!

Nice ring !

As for the ID of 14-16 ....... I would have thought 34 - 36 due to the size. Did you recheck the hole ?

Orientation, depth, and coil frequency all play a role in where gold will come at. The size and clarity of the tone would have had me digging it too, regardless of the TID.

Good job! Sweet find!

Did not recheck hole, have found a heavy mens wedding band that rang up right above a nickle. When i get home today i will check it with detector. Has anyone found real a gold ring that rang up 34 or above? Most rings i dig that high are junk. Thanks Tom

Yes, this beast of a ring with the 705 and the 10x5 HF coil on it..... the ring came in at 46 - 48 and screamed at me !

Oh, and yes, that does indeed say 999 on the inside of the ring !!

Congrat's on the very nice gold ring. Gold is always fun to fun.

I've found 2 men's 10k gold class rings and both of them showed numbers in the 30's and I found a lady's 7mm wide high dome 14k gold ring and it locked on #27. Most all of the other gold rings that I have found showed numbers in the Teen's and lower 20"s and I use the 10.5 DD MF coil.

What does the 999 mean?Is this the hallmark?Hallmarks are really hard to see.If you got a loop or a very good mag glass, you may be able to see a hallmark.A good hallmark can tell you a lot about that ring.WTG tomcat!!! :super:

High tone scream, like it was going to be BIG silver.

Congrats on a sweet recovery. Very nice find. Of the gold rings I've found with my X-TERRAs, the TID has ranged anywhere from lower-single digits to the highest of 34. It depends on the alloy and size of the ring. HH Randy

Thanks again everbody. Not sure if i should hunt the local community pool that's getting tore down again, i tried to leave those signal in the 30's alone because of those darn Lincolns. Tom

Ditto!
Mine have ranged from 6 to 40.
As I said previously, it can come in almost anywhere. So yeah, I'd be going back to that pool and digging everything before they screw it all up.

Great find on the ring...More to come when least expected!!
18k......Rings up like a penny TID 30

Gold is one of the sweetest looking things in a hole. Congratualtions.

99.9% of Xterra gold .. I like it
