X-70 erratic behaviour

I think I saw another member asking this question but can't seem to find it. So...Yesterday my X-70 was acting very erratic and just before shutting down I noticed my battery level was way done. Would low battery level cause such behaviour? This is the first time this has happened since I got the X-70. I was detecting a place with quite a bit of iron junk with the 9" 3KHz coil. Yes, I realize, more junk, more noise. I even adjusted my sensitivity lower and re-balanced several times , no help.

Most of the detectors I've used over the last few years are battery sensitive. Consider it, we ask for a lot out of a machine that uses very little power to do so much, it eminates an EMR field and runs an LCD display. If it still has the problem after changing out the batteries you'll need to contact Minelab.

I run mine until I start hearing the low battery warning tones. I have used mine all the way to where it shuts down because of low batteries with no loss of performance.
