Well I must certainly say this...the X-Terra 50 has already paid for itself. It done so with just the smile, boost of confidence, and enthusiasm that it gave my wife. I've had a couple of other machines for her that didn't really pan out. I got a Cibola for her and she had a little trouble telling iron from the better signals. Then I got her the Whites M6 and after testing it out, we found it was too bulky for her to swing good and it did NOT get good depth here. It was calmer than the MXT was on IDs but really and truthfully...not the best of machine. I traded it for an X-Terra 50 for her. Straight out of the box she liked it...because it was navy blue. Which is her favorite color.
We took it out for the first good field test the other day with her behind it. I was worried about the manual GB aspect of it but I showed her how to do it once and then she had it down. She was still a little unsure of it and would call me over and GB it with me there to make sure she was doing it right. She was. But we hunted a school yard and a soccer field and she was digging clad coins left and right. She wore me out. Using disc pattern 2...just for coins, she did NOT dig the first piece of trash. That boosted her confidence by a long long ways. On the way home she was really excited about going again and says this one is for sure a keeper.
I think when we hunt together now I'll let her mop up the coins for now while I drop down and dig all the foil and tab signals looking for some jewelry. Then when she wants to start digging for jewelry too we'll drop to disc pattern 1.
Can't wait to get her in the relic fields/woods with it. She'll probably strangle me for posting this picture if she finds it. hehe. Here she is going after another coin.
