X-305 question

The X-305 would be the same as the other x-terra models as far as depth, but with less bells and whistles. Is this correct? thanks very much.

yeah to a certain exstent. you lose prospecting mode and a few others. but all in all, all the Xterras are great detectors! i wouldn use anything else now that i have one.

Basically the same. However, you can probably coax some additional depth out of the 505 and even more out of the 705, due to the "finer" settings you can obtain. More accurate Sensitivity setting, Ground Phase setting etc. I also think there is some sort of additional software "tweak" on the 705, compared to the other two. It allows me to hear whisper signals on targets too deep for the other models. That functionality alone would not entice me to pay the extra price for the upgraded model, as it is minimal. Especially now that they all have threshold and multiple tone modes. And better yet, the X-505 can use the 3 kHz coil. But the "extra" depth, factored in with the "narrower" notches and additional functionality justifies the higher price, in my opinion. If you go up to the FAQFAQ section, you'll find a link (NEW Minelab X-Terra Comparison Chart) that allows you to make a comparison between all three models.

I've had the 305 with the HF 6" coil on it out a few times and it is a killer little park/tot lot machine. I was diggin pull tabs at 8-9 inches....gotta be some gold out there, cause the 305 is what I'm gonna use for that purpose............MO

Its a good machine i found 3 rings with it in a short period of time. And though they werent gold i shure with that machine under the right hands they would be.
