X-1 probe

I have two questions:
I have a Vibra probe which I am happy with. I am going to purchase an Explorer XS very soon and was looking at the X-1 probe to go along with it. My Vibra probe will pick up metal from 1/2 inch to 1 inch DIRECTLY below it. I realize the X-1 will go from 2 to 3 inches down. Does it go straight down or do you tend to pick up metal off to the sides of the probe.
I will probably buy the Explorer from Kellyco. Does anyone know if they have gotten the new units in yet that have the improved plastic to help prevent the cracks that have been occuring.
Thanks alot in advance to anyone answering my questions.

Hi Mark, yes the X1 ewill pick up the target about an inch or so from the sides, but strongest hit will be from the tip and will get at least 3 inches in depth.. thats is in disc mode, if you switch to pinpoint it is much more directional without seeing the stuff from the sides so much.. the thing is if I am having a problem finding it in disc and need to switch to pipoint its because its trash or large.. coin sized targets zero right in.. you hear the tones through your headphones and you just cant get a better pinpointer

After getting my X-1 probe I gave my Vibraprobe away because I knew that I could never use it again and be happy with it.

I still use my VibraProbe with my Tesoro but I never carry it with the Explorer anymore. No need to. The X1 is ten times better. HH-Coinshooter65

Does anyone have any interference problems from the X1 to the explorer? I have quiet a bit with the vibra.

Don't think you would as it's just switching from the original coil to the probe coil in effect (so the original coil is no longer receiving).
The Vibraprobe is a pulse induction detector and it's signal is picked up by your detector coil which is causing the interference. If you put your detector coil pointing away and as far apart from the Vibraprobe as possible there should be no interference either.
