Hello Everyone,
I just read all the discussion about finding so few coins at old sites. I have always been curious as to how much an given amount of cash was worth on a given date in the past. I found this web page and I realized that what is considered a small amount of money today was a days pay at one time in the past. At any rate by using this comparison we can realize why we sometimes find so few old coins.
My Grandfather told me that he started to work on a farm in 1914 for $0.30 a day.

Enjoy and Have a Great Day,
Your Friend,
John D.
