Found this original ww2 mine detector at a show in Gettysburg.thought it might be of interest to someone to see where this amazing hobby of ours started from.
 
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. My first metal detector ever was one exactly like this one. In 1969 when I was 13 years old I got one for Christmas. That thing weighed more than I did. I would find my first relic with it, A piece of Hotchkiss Shell. This was 50 years ago......a half century. Unbelieveable.
 
Thanks RelicSlayer. That did take me back a bit. I did enjoy the pic's. Thanks for sharing them with us. What state are you from? Have you been able to hunt any in the past little while? I'm from Georgia and it's just been too darn Hot. We do have a cool front coming in over the weekend. Saturday and Sunday the temps are supposed to be in the low 80's.
