I recently was given permission to hunt a ww2 barracks. The buildings are long gone but your still able to see the imprint of where they were and the iris that are still growing out there. When we went the first time I was only able to hunt for about 20 minutes and found nothing but trash. My buddy was able to hunt for a hour or so and found 2 buttons (which are really cool) and a wheatie. We went out there again today and he found another button and wheatie and I found the lid to a metal lighter, a 8 day clock that was in the aircrafts, and the coolest thing a ID tag for a E. T Bucko. I really want to find him or his family and give this back to them! I would love for someone to do that for me. How do I go about finding his family? Or even him?! Please Help.

Also if you know what this ID tag went to I would love to know that also!

A quick search turns up a Eugene T Bucko (1925-1999) who enlisted at Ft. Sheridan, Ill., in 1944. He was living in Chicago as of the 1940 census records.

No guarantee that he's your guy, but there's a pretty good chance. A place to start, at least.

I have found some things on him so far.

and he passed away in 1999
Bucko, Eugene Thomas, 73, of Chatsworth, retired engineer. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary, Westlake Village.

I'm going to try and contact the Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary and see if I can get in contact with his brother/wife/kids someone.

Found this also on ancestry.com

My name is Holly Bucko and my father is George S. Bucko. His father was George John Bucko and mother was Fay Nell Colllier Bucko, they have since passed away - 1985 and 1999 respectively. However, my dad is still alive and his sister, Sue Bell Bucko Moore is too. My father and I currently reside in Louisiana, as far as his sister, I do not know where she currently lives.
I know that my dad was born in Trenton, New Jersey then moved here at a very young age. My grandfather had sisters, but I am not sure of their names, although, I do know that his family came from Poland in the late 1800s-1900s.
If anyone has any more information, please e-mail me. Thanks.
Holly

Maybe?! Matches the father and brothers names in the first link that venner posted

Relative (sister) is Sue Bucko and it shows he had a address in Westlake Village CA, and that's where he died Bucko, Eugene Thomas, 73, of Chatsworth, retired engineer. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary, Westlake Village.

Getting super excited. I'm going to write Holly soon.
