WTB: Tesoro 3x18 CSC coil in DELTA / 4-pin configuration; also open to suggestions!

Like the subject says, I'm looking for a Tesoro 3x18 Cleansweep Delta/4-pin coil, for Tejon / Vaquero / Cibola / Lobo. I've got a five-pin version for my Golden uMax but I'd really like to find a four-pinner for my Vaquero and Tejon.

I've searched the web pretty hard, and a number of dealer's websites have them listed, but in every case, it turns out, "gosh, I should have had that taken down, they're no longer available..."

If anyone has suggestions for possible sources, or perhaps another similar coil ??? I'm all ears.

I love the CSC on my Golden uMax and am itching to try one on my Tejon and and Vaquero.

Thanks again!

yeah and they have had them up there for way too long and must get sick of answering emails saying NO but I think they leave it up there as it gets plenty of google hits and get people on to their websites but that can cut both ways too !!

tough coil to come by, how did you go pick one up? they are prone to split that's why they stopped making them and no they don't fix them.

good luck hope you can track one down !!

You said, "tough coil to come by, how did you go pick one up?" so I guess you're talking about the five-pin Delta configuration CSC I have now... I'd have to go dig through my old emails to make sure but as I recall, I found it right here on Findmall, used, 2-3 years ago. It's by far my favorite coil since I'm so far mainly a park / coinshootin' kinda guy and it really makes sweeping through a park fast and easy, and pinpointing is ridiculously accurate and easy.

If I don't find a four-pinner here, I guess about the only avenue left is eBay, and I haven't even found a closed auction for a delta config 3x18, much less a live one, so it's not looking good.

I need to do some research and see if the delta and epsilon coils are identical other than the connectors. If so I could probably still find an epsilon, and then just replace the connector, as long as that fifth wire isn't actually used.

Pretty sure they're not the same...optimized for two different frequency ranges.

(Otherwise, there would have been no reason to bother selling/stocking two lines of coils.)

yeah that's not gunna work swapping plugs,

take it no luck hey !!

hang in there you never know sure someone has one they don't need.

Nothing yet, nary a nibble, but I kind of expected that. It's not exactly a coil everyone and their neighbor has three of.

When it dries up later this week (I HOPE!) and I hit the park again, I'll be using new Tejon with the stock 9x8 concentric coil on it. Since I couldn't get out over the weekend thanks to the ridiculous weather, I played around with the dual discrimination levels and have it set for "Finish Fast-Scanning The Park For Silver" mode :) I guess realistically it won't be much slower than the 3x18 on the Golden, and I DO need and want to learn my way around the Tejon. But I know I'm going to be wishing I had the awesome pinpointing ability of that 3x18! There's never any doubt with that coil - the object is right at the end of the coil, every single time. I'm adequate pinpointing with other coils but that Cleansweep can spoil you, in the right environment and with the right "detecting mission."

I wish I knew exactly what the difference was between the 4-pin 3x18 and 5-pin 3x18, just for curiosity's sake. If I hadn't read on findmall and elsewhere that at least with SOME Tesoro 5-pin coils, only four wires were used, it wouldn't bug me as much.

Seeing that the universe seems to be out of this coil, though, has had me looking at the 5x10 elliptical :) Just Because ...

By the way, is it considered proper forum etiquette to re-post a WTB or FS post every week or so, such as when it makes its way off the first page?

don't know about reposting guess it would be a good idea to get rid of this banter , might be the same amount of wires but VLF coils are highly tuned to the detector they are made for and that's why they are expensive and only work on the machines they are made for. if you had a oscilloscope and a bunch of know how and some other tools probably make your own coils but that's a big learning curve I am sure.

never know one might pop up.

maybe grab a few 5 pins if cash allows cause who knows how long they will be around?
