WTB Reasonable Priced Large Sand Scoop In Southern California

I am looking to purchase a reasonably priced medium to long handled wide sand scoop in Southern California. I would like to pick it up locally. If you have one then send me a PM. Thanks

I'm in San Diego. I have a scoop for sale. $125 cash firm price, local pickup only...email contact info to iraliss@cox.net...has fiberglass handle not shown in pic

Good luck finding something better for a "reasonable" price....its just not there you will soon find out. Most are not stainless steel and will fall apart in a few months.......

There are plenty on EBay that are stainless steel for a “reasonable” price. Most of them are from the Ukraine and I really do not want to wait for shipping but maybe it’s worth it. Are they advertised as stainless steel and not really stainless steel? They are $70 including shipping. Anybody want to chime in on this?

Most of those "CHEAP" scoops are of thinner material than the higher priced ones. They will not stand up tp the pressure one puts on them digging in hard wet wand. You get what you pay for. One good scoop will out live two or three cheap scoops.

Will now consider shipping from out of state for the right deal. I am looking for T-Rex or T-Rex style Coob or Sito. The price must make sense (not what a new one costs). E mail me at sidewayzgtjb@aol.com if you have something for sale.

Here's a picture of the T-Rex. It was repaired twice and still broke. Holes too close to edge.
Not going to fix and use as backup.

Bought one from Ukraine a few years ago. Lasted 2-3 years and now the back has fallen apart.

Metal fatique. Just no way around it. Depending on how much use, the overseas held up pretty good.
Yes, they are stainless. Sorry no picture. You can spend $250 and get a light weight one. Just a matter of how much you are going to use it
and the conditions, rocks, mud, soft wet sand, dry sand, etc.

If working in wet sand, you definitely need something light weight.

Good luck and feel free to email me.

Thank you very much for the great insight Donna! There are many different scoops that I have been looking at and they all look the same. I’m probably going to be forced to go with a Ukrainian or Australian one because of the price. There is an advantage I’ve seen to buying a good American scoop, the warranty! I wish they were less expensive though, I truly buy American whenever I can afford to.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I have two scoops but looks like you got one. There are two Ukrainians selling these.
Do not buy the scoop with the round holes as the sand does not come out of it easily. The diamond or hex holes drain sand better for some weird reason.
If I recall, the round holes were too small a diameter.
