ordering a Minelab Etrac from someone on Wednesday, 10-12-11...
Looking for the best price.....
Don't need a bundle, could use the headphones, if worth the $$ in the deal....
Anyone know a place, sponsor have a $$ ????, lemme know!

thanks!

I have a slightly used E-Trac that I would be willing to sell. If interested email me at........brdwilliam @ gmail.com. I'll send you a contact #.

Thanks, Bill

I have the E-trac listed on my site: http://www.hollandsbrook.com/minelab-metal-detectors/minelab-e-trac/

Just to let you know, Minelab made a change in their authorized dealer policies about 2 weeks ago that restricts net selling prices lower than MAP. So you won't be able to find for less that $1,549 unless it's used.

Hope this helps! Give me a call if you have any questions.

HH,
Marc

If Minelab is telling dealers that they can't sell (as opposed to advertise) below a certain price, how can they legally get away with such an obvious anti-trust violation?

I dont think they do. If they really start to do stuff like that then you know it is all about profit and quality will suffer also as a result because if it is really about profit then they will use parts that they can get cheap and sell high and that is a FACT, just how maximizing gain works! I will then move to a different brand.

They are going about it a different way.
They are using the product as a trade mark. Since they are allowing to us their trade mark they can set the price.

Just my opinion. And I for one am not going to be testing this system.

Minelab gets the same amount for each machine even if the dealers chose to give them away unless they are working/selling on commission......

Minelab does not and will not use cheap parts. The quality will not suffer. You may choose to use a different brand but I have total faith that they will still produce the same quality machines they always have. They have proved it to me many times.

Rick, I appreciate the good words but I've decided to listen to you, the little guy inside of my head and others. I've decided to keep my machine. I was silly for wanting to sell it in the first place.

Thank you my friend
Bill

I was in the retail bicycle business for over 35 years as a shop manager, I assume that MD dealerships work in a similar manner, when you apply to become a dealer you must sign a dealer agreement. In this agreement you are stipulated as to how you merchandise the product, sometimes carrying the stipulation that you may not sell the product below a listed price. If you do you may have your franchise revoked. That is their way of regulating it. So any dealer that does sell below the price risks losing their franchise.

I am sorry but how do you know?? Do you work at minelab and are you involved with the production or development and especially with management? With a statement like that, it seems you don't know the first thing about production and economics. I am not trying to ride you or be rude but it would seem that you support this because you would make a fair share of profit on your side also (if you are a dealer). I may be wrong but there is NO WAY that you can state that minleab will not use cheat parts and quality will not suffer because it already has on the etrac after production shifted and that is a fact, just read some posts.

Again, I did not intend to offend you or put you down but these are simple facts. I can say 100% because of what I do my profession I KNOW what happens in general.

hopefully your sales won't suffer as a result!
they know they got a good product, however, may take some of us out of the game, along with your bottom line!
if it was me,i would be "voicing" my opinion in protest, because it is entirely possible, your profits could be effected over time, because of
lack of "quantity" sales! ..just an opinion from a "concerned" consumer!

it's in his interests to make a statement like that whether "verified" or not!
if you were in his position, you would probably take the same position.
that said, the profit margin WILL increase for the selling dealer, however,
over time margins "could" be reduced to lack of sales,as many may "determine"
that the "trac" is 'too" big a "hit" and the money walks!..only time will tell!
in my view, this "sucks" but it's all about marketing, however the timing could not be worse!
(w.t.f!) we are practically in another recession! makes ya wonder who's runnin' the show!
just sayin'
