Can a seperate forum be setup for people that want to buy/trade. this is the classifieds of course you want to buy thats why your looking. Im trying to see whats for sale in the classifieds not everyone elses wish list. just a thought

If you ask me....I think we are stiffled enough as it is. The members here are ONLY allowed to sale ONE metal detector in a 3 month period. There used to be MANY sales on this forum. Now we don't have as many because of that limit....and if we DO sale a detector we need to be sure it "is the one" because we are forbidden from selling another for quite some time.

I see post that machines have been sold or traded still here. I spend a lot of time rereading the same ones. The poster needs to remove afterwards. Put a 7 day limit on listing then remove it. Too hard to find out what has not sold and what has. 1 listing per member at a time. Dealers should have their own place to post.Just my thoughts.

well clockdrwe i think that is a different issue, i can see a reason behind that, they dont want 50000000 unknown dealers selling on here who may or may not be credible/trustworthy. For me, i dont want to see 5000 post that say WTB minelab excal i have $50 dollars let me know. I want to actually see some detectors for sale, that being why i clicked on the "classified section". i hope im not the minority but its kinda ridiculous with the WTB and FT. then if you find one that actually is for sale you read thru a bunch of replies and then find out its sold, isnt there a way to edit the post and put sold in the title???

Yes............!! Remove all those SOLD-CHANGED MIND-.......no longer available items----- TRUE. But I wouldn't stop the more than one listing really. That would just LIMIT our purchases, just like the one detector sale every 90 days. But I can see your point about one listing UNTIL they announce it being sold or gone from purchase option as being a good way to assure they pop to it. But they more than likely have the one item only...and that wouldn't help them correct there forgetfulness. Oh well

I like being able to post WTB and WTS because since you can only sell 1 detector per 90 days, that allows a person to sell more then 1 in 90 if someones wants a different unit they have. This also aids those looking for odd or old detectors that someone hasn't thought to sell but that WTB may spark their interest in relinquishing it if the buyers offer is right. I'm not selling any of mine but if someone is looking for one I have and wants to pay a decent price I may let it go...

Leave selling prices alone, I like to see what some detectors sold for, it is a good reference. As for when they are Sold, it would be good if it could be put in the subject line when sold or traded.

i think it would be nice if we were allowed to sell one detector per month. i really dont think there would be a lot of people doing this as most dont have the money to buy and sell in this economy anyway. even at one detector per month i dont think the dealers who help sponsor the site would be at a loss. just my 2 cents worth.

It has just CHANGED a little that is in a negative way. Like another member states also (and I agree and have said something similar)...at LEAST one detector per person once a month isn't to much to ask for. We all "usually" ask around before we purchase (if person can be trusted...yada-yada-yada) the chance of stopping a thief with more than one POST isn't going to be stopping the "new" member listings (FAKES) because he will just us another NAME. So buyer beware as always. Only thing this "one metal detector per 90 days" is helping is the "Dealers" who USUALLY make a big profit, and isn't quite like the personal touch I feel with dealing with an individual that usually has more INFO on his own personal metal detector. I would like to see a "members only" section for used metal detectors, and the Dealers could have there Own space. I have had some "straight" deals on this forum....but I've been CHEATED too by a so called (STAR MEMBER) here with a Sunray Probe for the XLT (coiled cord erratic short) that cost me about $75 to fix. But I'm still here So I think I have paid the price and proven my RESPECT for this forum
