WTB: Another Detector

Dyna_Willie

New member
We have two :bounty:Sharpshooter II's, we need another detector that will not interfere with the SS II when detecting side by side. Any suggestions?

I would not go with another BH machine as most operate at 6.6KHz...Perhaps a Garret's Ace 250, or a Tesoro machine. A White's Prizm V might be another one to look at. The Predator 3 is another one that looks good, and is supposed to be deep seeking with a 8.5" coil. The Fisher ID Excel might be yet another to look at...Any of these operate on frequencies far enough away from the BH that it should not interfere unless your closer than say 5 feet from each other.

I hope this helps,

That does help, I have been reading the forums and the Ace 250 is notably mentioned, along with the Tesoro compadre, and Silver

Now any other detector is NOT going to work just like the BH...they will have diiferent tones...and readouts. The Tesoro brand is a threshold machine (you will hear a constant background humm, then when you hit a target, that hummm will change in frequency depending on what is under the coil...most have no LCD screen). It will be a case of learning a new detector all over again...

I can't see my screen most of the time on my SS II, you have to twist and turn it to get the right angle to view it, I have been identifying by tone. I don't need no stinking display!

That is good...Sometimes I wish I had gone with a detector without a disply, like the Souveriegns or Tesoro...I think I have spoiled myself having the screen....Prlly why I have found no rings and such...I see screw cap, and move on.

Be sure to ck. out E-bay.I purchased my unit on there and was extremely happy with it...................Be sure to check feedback and shpg, charges of a prospective seller to put yourself at ease during the bidding and buying process.,untill then ...HappyHunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is a good idea. Which detector did you buy off of eBay?

I have it narrowed down to a Tesoro Compadre, Silver UMax, or Gold UMax OR A Fisher 1266X or a 1270.

I eliminated some due to the fact that I do not like the idea of using AA batteries
