Went to a tot lot today after a bad start at the beach.I think someone is going to be a little UPSET that they lost this.

Ah oh! Someones been in their mom and dad's silver stash. That looks mighty good. Hope it's the real thing. Our club Prez brought some to our meeting one night that were counterfeit. They looked real, but the weight was not up to what it should be and the silver was only plated. Big congrats and hope it's real. HH, Nancy

WOW!!! is right.:clapping:
What did it VDI at? and I'll bet your ears are still ringing:laugh:

It's hard to believe that coin was in the sand. Silver scratches very easily. Nice find. Rob

Great find - hope to match it one of these days. LOL

They pulled up sections of the sidewalk in my little town (founded in 1753) and right at the busy corner i leaned way over the const fence with my MXT and in one spot i got the exact same hit. If i could have gotten into that area (jumped the fence) i know i would have an old silver dollar too. Target is now under a good foot of concrete now.Sometimes i regret not messing with the fence, but i was being closely watched by the const crew..

I did an experiment with my silver dollar find.
If I hold the coil over the target at 2-4 inches I get a +94,
but start raising the coil higher and I get a reading in the 70's.
The soil also influences the reading too I suppose.

I was noodling around in the local tot lot close to home one day. I swung my coil under the suspended walk on the jungle gym and got a big 'ol hit, high up on the scale. I kicked it with my toe and out popped a like new 40% Kennedy Half Dollar.
While not a Morgan Dollar, to be sure, it was a nice surprise.

Looks to be a real one. Very nice find for a tot lot! (Crazy the kind of stuff that can pop up in a playground.)
