I make a post on the classifieds forum LOOKING for something, NOT selling...and you guys start throwing around wild accusations.

I used to post in this forum many years ago, and recognize some of the names who were judging me as people I used to talk to and share finds with once upon a time. I used a different name back then, but that's not the point really. I am not sure who had my posts removed and had me banned from the classifieds forum...or on what grounds...but it's sad. Goes to show what direction this once great hobby is going. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

Hey Vernon. My message was not intended for all of the folks on this forum...just the select few who started making assumptions and accusations on the classifieds forum. That being said, I know they post in this particular forum as I used to talk to some of them many years ago. I guess it doesn't take much to be found guilty of something around here, and be banned from the classifieds forum with your posts deleted. Brutal welcome for sure. Anyhow, those that were pointing fingers and reporting my post (for no reason at all) know who they are.
I remember you from years ago Vernon. How are you?
 
Hi Craig. Well if I got banned for doing something that was against the rules, fair enough...but one would think I would get a message or warning, or reason why I got banned instead of just deleting my posts and giving me the boot from that particular forum. I posted a want ad, someone replied saying they had the machine I wanted at a certain price, and I replied stating I could get a new one for less but thank you anyway. I didn't even mention where I could get one for cheaper asI could see if that was the case it may have looke bad in some way. Next thing I know I am booted. Great way to welcome new posters...sort of defeats the purpose of the forums and this hobby.

I am in Afghanistan right now and have little time to post, and when I do the connection is so slow it is time consuming....thus, it's pretty frustrating my posts got deleted.

I posted under my real name I believe...WessThompson. Could be wrong on that as it was back in 2004-2006 maybe.

Actually Elson, I do remember you. I started posting here in 2004 when I was a newbie to detecting. I am from Ontario, Canada. I am sure I used the name "WessThompson" but might be wrong. It's been a long time.

Hello everyone hah Hi Brian. Been a long time!

Yeah, I don't know what happened. I just know people were saying I was running some sort of scam and it was fishy etc...then bam...I got the boot. Would really like to know why I don't have access to the classifieds forum anymore. I am not pleased about it, but aside from that...could live with it...but think in fairness I should know why it happened!?

Anyhow, I will post up some finds tomorrow when I get a chance, although I am limited to what relic photo's I have access to here on my laptop.
 
Hmmm...do I need to be registered for 30 days before posting on the classifieds? Even to buy rather than sell? I guess that could be it if that's the case.
