Wow! What a pinpoint Mode!!!!!:surprised:

I took my Ace250 on it's first hunt today and BOY, was I impressed with it's pinpoint mode!:jump: I have never used a detector with such a deadly pinpoint on it (sliding the coil forward). It is as accurate as my pocket Uniprobe. Every time I probed or used my coin trowel, I was BANG on target! Hunted on lawn and in sand with it. When in the sand; once I had pinpointed the target, all I did, was probe down using my pointer finger only and very time, up came the target! Even if it was only a nail or similar. Normally, I would lift the sand up by the handful and sift it; not anymore.
Found the tone on the machine a bit harsh on the ears, get I'll get used to that.
IN all this is a very well balanced machine that is very light (even with the large coil on it without the coil cover) that simply performs! There is not much that is difficult to learn about it, and I'm certainly going to enjoy using over the next couple of months as I take my long service leave. I'll post my finds as I go.
All the best.

You got that right about the pinpoint mode, Mick. It is awesome.

As for the sound, I do agree; when I hunt without headphones, I soon know where most of the dogs are in a 2 block radius:lmfao:

Hi Mick, sorry its taken so long to get back to you ,,Puta problems,,I lost your last thread but did read it breifly,,I detect mainly in jewllery because it suits the relic side i hunt and gives the aus coins a good bash, but also its so close to all metal which i use to snif out the area im going to detect,This way i get more ground covered and only use these two modes and dont seem to miss to much,I collect old plane propellers, hence, tigermoth, and used to fly hang gliders as well as gliders, but now only fish and detect, good to hear you got your ace,it will be all go now,it dose take a bit to get use to the volume,i tried a external controled speaker and it was good but dont use it any more, best of luck,Bazz:beers:

Love the comment about the dogs Dick.
Hey Bazz. I hear you on the jewellery mode for the Aussie coins. We'd miss a few if using coin mode. Jewellery mode on the ace is the same as the coin mode on the X-Terra's.
It's good to come across another plane buff and hang glider pilot (former). I'm seriously considering either hang gliding or paragliding myself (as soon as I can afford it). Over half my family has had a go at hang gliding already. What a way to fly. Detecting is a hobby that can blend very well with this sport as you've got to travel a bit, and when it's not on, then at least you've got a good excuse to detect. Not to mention the those good detecting sites that you can get to, that you normally couldn't.
Enjoy your hunts.
