WOW, what a difference the Gray Ghost headphones make on the Excal.!!!!!

I just received my Excalibur back from Minelab after they fitted the Ikelite connectors on both the stock Koss and my new Gray Ghost headphones. All I can tell you is that the crispness and superb tone quality of the Gray Ghost over the Koss is remarkable. Thanks to Gulf Hunter for posting his findings of the Gray Ghost headphones. It was his excitement that got me to switch over. I can use the stock Koss phones if needed, as a back up. Happy hunting, John

I'm 2 1/2 years into the Gray Ghost/Excal Marriage with the Ikelite connectors and they never cease to amaze me.

I just wish it was easier to have done in a one stop shop.

If you're going to do anything to an Excal to make it a Hot Rod... this should be your first investment.

Hey John, glad you are pleased, as well. I am thoroughly convinced that signals can be heard using Gray Ghost Underwaters, that simply were unaudible with the Koss. Huntress and I did some bench testing using both. I swept various gold jewelry items under her coil and many she did not even get a signal on using the Koss! With the Gray Ghosts she was able to hear the signals much better and even had a broken low on one of the gold bracelets too! Imagine how many of those are laying all over the bottom out there? Git cha some! Lets see some field testing John! I have been gold-less for 16 straight hunts! I hope this is over soon! My record is 25!

But after your bench testing I my go with the Gray Ghost phones.
If I can only do one winter upgrade which will it be?

Just purchased a pair of Grey Ghost headphones for my excal and can`t wait to try them out, but there were no connectors shipped with the phones and I was going to do the install myself. Can anyone give me info on where I could purchase the Ikelite connectors for the job.

You could try Joe DeMarco and see if he has any in stock, http://demarcodetectorsales.com/html/Troy.html . Minelab should have some also, but may cost a little more money. Make sure to buy an extra connector for your stock phones, so there will be a back-up set if needed. John
