I haven't been in here in a while but it looks like the place has been busy in my absence. Some good stuff has been posted, makes me want to get out and shoot a little myself now. I have a new toy that is supposed to be delivered today, a 24-70mm f/2.8. That will be in addition to the two studio strobes I picked up this morning. So I should have lot's of stuff to play with over the holiday, I'll try and post some photos. Keep up the posts gentlemen, I really enjoy them!

Obviously this is just a test shot. I had just finished setting up my two new studio strobes in the basement and was looking for a subject. One good thing about Goldens, they're inherently lazy and don't mind having their pictures taken, and best of all they work for free. In other words, they are perfect models for testing new photo equipment on. Although some on this forum prefer to use cats, and others birds, they all serve their purpose.

This was shot with a 50mm f/1.4 lens. I setup the two strobes to hopefully light up my subject and eliminate any distracting shadows. I must admit for not knowing what I was doing I seem to have met both of my objectives reasonable well. Now as far as the actual composition of the photo is concerned ... well ... it leaves much to be desired. ;)
