Well I made it to Florida with my other two friends and the welcome we got was tornado's and thunder storms and hard rain lol so now we are hanging out in Kissimmee and probably won't get to try out my new F5 till tomorrow if the rain gets done welcoming us. Well take Floridians and please save some loot for us newbie Wisconsin boys hehe
The water temperature of the gulf is pretty cold for this time of year.
If you are going to be doing water hunting, make sure you have a good warm wet suit.
The beaches have been re sanded in the Tampa / Sarasota area and the storms have cut into the beaches dragging sand into the shallow water covering much of what needs to be found.
Lido beach had a drop off of almost 3 feet because of the waves from the storms. The water was cold.
So the replenishing of the jewelry has not been the best of late due to the weather.
Spring Break looks like to be a dud this year with the bad weather and the economy. Almost no activity on the beaches today 3/11/10. The east coast was not any better. The treasure coast was sanded in and not much activity.
But don't let that stop you. There are rings and things that are still there that were lost years ago and to this day not found.
A woman last month on the treasure coast found a 61.6 carat emerald and got almost 400 grand for it. She almost threw it into the ocean but decided not to.
We will be gulf side so hoping to get out tomorrow as well pending on where we find a room tonight. Treasure Island is looking good but not sure where were ending up lol
Well ladies and gentlemen I finally got to actually try put my scoops the last 2 days and there holding nicely. Even though I only found 2 pennies yesterday and 9 pennies and my first quarter today I got to say this hobby is the best! I'm so loving Florida right now. My 2 friends though not sold on the idea so no big deal I'm heading back to the beach in the a.m. and going some more.
?
?Now the Fisher F5 is my first machine and its doing an amazing job and the sand is just so fun and not bad scenery at all ?
?So yes I have to say though just a little bit of time I got the hang of the F5 for the most part. I just dig everything running in AM mode so I don't miss anything but getting the hang of it. Oh and one more thing about the F5 on the beach is I'm digging up the tiniest little pieces of metal at 7 - 9" so I'm guessing the F5 is a really great choice for me. I'll update you all tomorrow on how I do.
Hi WisconsinMD; Glad to hear your finally in the swing of things.Therre is bling waiting for you for sure. Don't pass up any repeatable signals. Could be a coin or ring on edge. Good Luck. PEACE:RONB
Nice loot John hope u left me some loot on the east coast hehe well went out today for another couple hours and found 2 quarters a dime and 4 pennies and then my friends came and pulled me off the beach to go do some go carting lol but I cod of stayed out all day I was loving it so much and the scenery was pretty nice so now I almost made my first dollar in the hobby lmao St Petes beach and treasure island beach is where I'm at now think I might go put in the a.m. and hit it one more try before we leave to head south. Not sure where were going next as were not very organized this trip lol but its been a great trip just the same hehe think we might be heading to the keys so maybe I will run into hurricane jane while were there hehe good luck to everyone its looking kind of cool this week and that's bad for business for us lol
Well Ladies and Gentleman I want to thank you for leaving me some loot to find while down here in Florida. Unfortunately my friends and I have to leave early so no Vero Beach or hunting with John on this trip. But I did find my first 2 pieces of jewelry and first foreign coin from Brazil and some coins. I had a AWESOME first experience with MD with my F5. Oh and if anyone want to thank me for cleaning the beaches of tabs, bottle caps, foil, nails and a full beer bottle buried upside down lol ur welcome lmao truth is I dug everything and loved it all lol we left Boca Raton and now heading back to good old WI so I thank you Floridians once again for leaving me some loot. Didn't get skunked once hehe
I'll post the pictures this weekend from the home computer
