.......Ive been looking up the Oregon Trail on the 'net, there are some INCREDIBLE pics of the Trail that still exists after almost 170 years.Wagon ruts, trails to the horizon..............Ive noticed that a lot of the crossings at the rivers and creeks are on private property-WOULDNT THAT BE A HOOT if someone on here was to KNOW one of them folks that owned that land where the pioneers had to ditch a lot of their belonings to make it over the passes???Just IMAGINE what awaits out there to be found!!!They had all their worldly belonings on them migrations;and to think of all the items that were discarded/lost/stolen/buried out there-and STILL THERE-makes my imagination work overtime..............:thumbup:HEY MIKE-wouldnt that make a GREAT forum hunt?????:clapping:

I've read where there are people detecting the Oregon trail and pics do still show the wagon ruts in the rocks....So many historical places to detect are privately owned now or under concrete parking lots and buildings or owned my the Fed Gov''t (us...but not allowed to do anything there...but those who are gov't agents do of course) and prevent the dedicated detectorist access to them! Asking is the best way and filling holes and not leaving a mess is one way of being able to hunt those lands off-limit otherwise! May God Bless and provide you the finances to make your trips out West and fulfill your dreams! Amen! Ma Betty
