We have a bit of a dilemma (although I already think I know what I'm gonna do). A while back, when we lived in Tenn, I found a 1950 class ring (at a house we were fixing up) from a local school and simply put it away with our other neat finds. Lately, we've been trying to return the rings, and such, if we can find the owners. This particular ring only had initials, but by getting the school class reunion organizer to do some checking we finally got an answer. She found who the owner was, but he is deceased. She does have the name of a cousin, however, and says if we send it to her she will give it to the family.
Our goal was to return it to the rightful owner. I'm not so sure about sending it to a cousin. I'm not sure how much sentimental value it would have to a cousin. Should we keep it and say "Well, we tried" or send it to anyone else in the family.
What would you do?
