Would These Be The Same.

If the Tejon had single discrimination, would the Vaquero and Tejon be about equal in performance...

they are different machines for sure which one is better , not sure they both find stuff, depends on what you want it for, had one liked it, didn't like all the battery's so got rid of it and that's probably the only reason.

they are different frequencies also. so, i do not believe they would be the same. think there is probably a reason for the battery thing also.

Ive had 2 tejons and 2 vaqueros. They're not the same in my soil . the Tejon is way deeper. The V is more stable . If you can handle the heat the tejon is the way to go. My first Tejon was an earlier one and was DEEP but it chattered like a rat in a cage. The last one is not as deep but doesn't chatter. It's more refined than the first one. For my preference I prefer the raw power but its not for everyone.

Vaquero runs on 9v, Tejon on 12 v. Tejon is more powerful, also, as stated above, they operate on different detecting frequencies. I used to have a Tejon, but have not had a Vaquero, although I do have a Cibola. Tejon is a much more powerful machine than the Cibola, on the other hand, the Cibola is lighter to use and does everything I want it to do. I guess it comes down to personal preferences and what type of detecting you want to do with that particular detector.
