Would still like to see a pro coil for the X-Terras like the E-trac

and explorer SE Pro has.I wonder if we will ever see one?

Also on a side note has anyone else noticed that the HF coils can be run under high line power lines fine but the other lower freq coils get noisy under them?

Thanks

Keith Southern

some power lines give me trouble no matter what coils I have on, and no matter what noise cancel channel I use.

Yes, the 3kHz is the most prone, which makes sense since it is harmonically closer to 60Hz. There are other factors though such as; how high the voltage potential on the line is, how high vertically the lines are, what type of structure supports them, how clean and sound the insulators are, and lastly some companies send data along the lines. I would also avoid those areas after a rainy spell or during high humidity as this can really cause the insulators to bleed current.

But overall having the ability to put on not only a HF coil but also a different configuration CC/DD can really help. And you don't have to spend ~$1500 for that capability.

The X-Terras.....the Little Engine that Could!

WE WANT A LIGHTWEIGHT PRO COIL (for the Xterras)----WE WANT A LIGHTWEIGHT PRO COIL (for the Xterras)-------Minelab, can you hear us?????

.
I'm pretty sure if ML came out with the pro coil for the X-Terra it would be a long long time before I would feel the need for a new machine.
Come to think of it perhaps that is also a reason they won't:rage:

The three 9" Concentric coils for the X-Terra's are very slim and lightweight and I give Minelab credit for that. We just need a large DD for the X-Terra's that is the same being preferably-firstly a DD Pro Coil and secondly a Slimline.

The first picture is a stock 11" DD Pro Coil is put on the E-Trac, Explorer SE Pro, and Safari from the factory.

The second picture is a Slimline DD coil that is put on the Sovereign GT and Musketeer Advantage.

And lastly on the far right is the existing X-Terra 10.5" DD coil.

Like many others, I too would like to see Minelab come out with a larger lightweight coil, but it doesn't appear that it is going to happen anytime soon. After having just got the 6" HF DD coil and noticing what excellent separation abilities it had, the other thing I noticed right off was that there was less interference with it when under high voltage lines than with the stock coil. A double plus for the HF DD coil...
