Would running higher sensitivity in Manual affect tonal quality of a target?

Just curious about that question..... I typically water hunt in Manual 23-25, open screen, 5 tone combined, Normal, Seawater On, Deep On and have noticed on coins and today on an 18k ring, that I am getting an Iron grunt along with what ever tone for the target should be, Quite like a bottle cap that hits as a high or mid-tone with an Iron grunt.... On corroded coins I guess I could understand it but today with the gold ring (scooped in the second scoop) I wouldn't think that should happen...

I plan on doing some testing on my next hunt to see if the higher sensitivity is responsible... Is that something others have noticed or is it just me?

I run real high sensitivity and get the grunt on deeper targets, even if the area is free of anything ferrous.

Sweet ring bro. Bet you love to have it.

I would not think that higher sen. would be causeing the iron grunt. What kind of FE numbers are you getting with the grunt?
Also where do you have your FE line set at? I have mild soil around here and have never experienced that before on a good target that i am aware of. I know that in the early stages of be using the CTX i dug many, many iffy targets , high tone with iron grunts only to find iron targets.Having said that i would not doubt that i have passed up some good targets but the percentages arent there for me to continue to dig most of the time. Somtimes the high tone is to good to pass on though but to date still just iron in the hole.

Manual Sensitivity can create a less stable TID, due to it running all three channels at the same level. Too much Sensitivity can create a situation where ground induced interference over-rides the target signal.

Thanks all for the comments. I'm presently running with the FE line at 23...

I'll try lowering the sensitivity some tonight to see what that does to both the tone and numbers.
