Thanks to everyone who posts on here. It has helped me learn my MXT. I have Bags and bags of trash, but no one wants to see that. I'm SO HAPPY. I knew it was out here, just couldn't ever find it. Today i found a little piece of Silver. 17th Century silver. I have included the link I believe looks like the coin I found this morning. I moved from Atlanta, Ga to Grand Cayman islands a little over 2 years ago. I have found a few gold rings, a few pieces of silver, so much trash I feel like screaming sometimes, then this..... coin I would like to upgrade to a better coil for trashy beaches. Any suggestions would be great. I am also picking up an Excal II next trip to states also, for a little snorkeling and scuba action. On my Mxt, I run mine in coin/jewelry mode, with my disc at 5 - 6 because of the trash, if I run disc @ 2 - 3, I pick up strong, steady signals on VDI @ 20 or 22, it is always a bottle cap. Will I still pick up the gold rings with disc set at 5 - 6 or will I lose those also?

i would suggest running your discrimination at 3 if you want gold rings
square pulltabs register on mine at 22 anything with a solid repeatable signal that reads 20 & bellow i dig many of my gold rings register at 4-6 foil

I found one of those once, but mine doesn't say "copy". It wasn't real either. But it sure beats a pull tag.

I once found a copy as well, although living in the mountains as soon as I dug it I said to myself "NO WAY". Sure enough as soon as I cleaned it up, it said "copy" just like yours. Sorry its not real, but maybe next time!

Still a cool story and glad you posted. I turn my disc. at 3. Sometimes a bit lower and you'll find gold rings, etc. if they're out there. Remember your coil has to be over the target to find it. HH, Nancy

The gold diamond ring that I found this summer came in at 10 VDI. I am getting better depth and a tone that tells me it is not iron by using Relic Mode. I have just been using this mode a few weeks and am loving it more and more. The tone changes by the disc you set. Thus, if you set the disc to 3, everything below it will have a low tone and everything above it will be a high tone. You can cover more ground faster. Bring in the Silver. It is now over $17 a t ounce.
