I personally like my MXT would like to see if the DFX is worth the upgrade. Any info would be appreciated. HH

I personally use the MXT/M6 but the reason why is that I haven't really taken the time to learn the DFX well, I like to turn-on-and-go.
With that said, the DFX is good in the wet sand with 2 freq.. has the ability to use both freq. or select a single one for your needs...
Lots of programs out there that work great... varied notching...
many times you can tell by the VDI numbers the difference between a pulltab and a nickel.. audio ID...etc..etc... definitely a fun machine if you like to "tinker" with the programing...Very High Resell...I'm sure there will be a lot more jump in here and give you many more reasons or expound on these.. You might even consider posting on the DFX forum below... Thanks Richardntn

it is truly amazing. At first I ran in the pre-set programs and managed a couple of nice silver rings and mercs and such, but once I learned how to adjust and tweak the programs I was shocked at the coins I started finding. Almost every place I hunt has been pounded and my finds are truly shocking of how much silver is still left. I had found over 16 seated coins this year (four quarters), numerous barbers and countless mercs and roosies. I averaged silver almost every time out this year. I even managed to find my first and second gold ring, my first large cent and my first spanish reale. The relics I have found have also been great (A dragon from an indian trade rifle, trade ax and a few buttons). This machine with its flexibility and adjustably has never given me a problem under any ground conditions and handles iron great (I will dig iron on occasion looking for relics, but I know for sure if its iron or something else). I have manged several nice silver coins that had iron close by or in the same hole and new that there was iron there, but also silver. I hope this helps and if you do decide on a DFX send me an email and I will help you get through the learning process a little faster.

In my opinion you already have most of the DFX's pro's in the MXT, versatility and operating at a Higher frequency. The only thing I can think of that really would make a difference, would be DFX's Dual freq mode for beach hunting, and honestly can't say that that would be a big difference. More experienced MXT'er's do well at the beach. So if your not an avid beach hunter, don't really think it would be that much of an upgrade for ya.
