Greetings,

I thought this would be a wonderful place to post this. Last year I uncovered a USAF pilot ring. This was found in a lake in Michigan. I have some information on the owner but I thought that maybe if I could get this out in more places somebody might know something about him. I did locate his best friend in the Air Force but they lost contact in 1965 in the Azores. If anybody can help me with any more leads I would greatly appreciate it.

This ring belongs to a William Hurt. He graduated from class 55N at Spense Air Force Base. I was told he is from Spartanburg: Cowpens, South Carolina. I have written to the government to ask for his military records but I haven't received an answer yet. I don't know how long that will take. Does anybody here have any more ideas on how to find him or is he by chance a relative of anyone on this site? Wishful thinking!!

Yes I have been to the Spense Air base site. I have his best friends name and I also have his service number. That is what I used to send for his service records. Hopefully The government will come through. I will check out all the links and I thank you for them. Jeff, I don't want to pay any money out right now for the information in your link. I don't have extra cash!!

if the gov will send you his service records unless your entilted to see them-gov,medical,etc.

Tried that and called most everybody by that last name and no luck. The Freedom of Information Act allows me access to what they have SUPOSEDLY. Will see what their response is and let you know!!
