Would an aircraft vectoring signal affect a metal detector at a distance?

I was hunting a yard today that is within a mile of an aircraft vectoring tower. I kept getting a contant blip out of my AT-Pro and nothing I would adjust would stop it. They were having an airshow in the neighborhood and I'm sure the frequency was being used extensively. Any thoughts on this issue?

Yes....the transponder signals can interfere with the metal detector audio. I have also experienced this.

John, I appreciate the feedback. After talking with my hunting buddy this morning, I think we figured out that it wasn't the tower but an electric fence charger. I was within 30 yds of an electric fence.

yes I own a tesoro silver and when i hunt near an airport, my metal is affected by aircraft signal during their landind run over my head.
