Does the WOT use up the battery power faster than the normal sized coils of 10.5 or the 7.25?

No
Uses the same power on all size coils,The larger coils have the field spread out more, hence less
sensitivity to small objects as apposed to a 5.5
inch coil were the lines of force would be much closer together to create a much more intense, but
smaller field.

Wow first time I have heard that Question...I aggree with John but perhaps some input from a Tech. would be applicable....

Hi; I've heard and have seen it in articles many times, but just what is a WOT coil? Do the letters mean anything? Just started using my Explorer XS and like it so far. Have had it out twice now, mostly to school play areas to get the used to it, but will eventually use it relic hunting and hitting the beaches. Great forum now that all the useless stuff is gone. Thanks Guvnor. HH to all, Jim
